GDIT is seeking a LIMS Database Administrator to provide technical support for the design, administration, security and information assurance of a webserver-based laboratory information management system (LIMS).
Work directly with researchers to provide information management support and services for ongoing drug discovery and development efforts.
Serve as the primary technical contact between WRAIR and the LIMS vendor for the purpose of overall system monitoring and reporting, resolution of system problems, users technical support, and technical expertise to advise on any proposed changes to the system.
Function as a liaison between the LIMS vendor, branch managers, and the WRAIR Information Management Division (IMD) to ensure the servers and LIMS are in compliance with DoD and Army Information Assurance requirements.
Serve as the lead technical representative to review DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs) requirements for all components of the server architecture.
Work as the primary liaison to the LIMS vendors to communicate and manage informational requirements need by the WRAIR IMD for accreditation of the LIMS through the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
Maintain certifications as required to meet DoD IA Workforce regulations, and acquire training necessary to obtain and maintain technical expertise in the requirements listed above.
Serve as an IT liaison to ensure conduct will be professional and strive to keep communications clear, concise, and meet the objectives of the customer.
Attend and present at relevant national scientific conferences, if required by the Government.
Required Skills and Experience:
Associates degree and 4+ years’ experience in Information Sciences, Biotechnology or equivalent field, or an equivalent combination of training, certifications, and experience (such as a Bachelors and 2+ years).
Technical experience and working knowledge of LIMS, or other comparable web-based database system and server operation.
Experience with command line interfaces and/or Linux operating systems.
Familiarity with relational databases and SQL query structure.
Must hold (or be able to achieve within 6 months) a DoD baseline certification for Information Assurance Technical, Level I or II, per DoD Manual 8570.01.
Position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance. Active Secret clearance is highly preferred.
