We are seeking a Systems/Cloud/Operations Manager to support work on our federal client, the Commodity Futures Trading Commissions (CFTC) infrastructure operations, maintenance, and support services. This is a full-time position located at the customer site to perform these areas of responsibilities:
Oversees and directs all aspects of operations and maintenance (O&M) of the infrastructure
Exercises leadership and day-to-day management of technical teams tasked with the operations of the servers and network
Serves as the senior-level escalation point for infrastructure staff that responds and resolves all infrastructure operational issues
Oversee mix on-prem and cloud infrastructure environment
Manages government customer relationships to maintain infrastructure operations
Meet or exceed all service level agreements (SLAs) and ensure meeting of deliverables
Develops and maintains policies and procedures for all IT infrastructure operating environments
Reports key metrics on network infrastructure operational activity
Manages, participates and oversees the maintenance of all assets for the data center, networks, and other infrastructure
Provides strategic direction for growth for technology infrastructure operations capacity planning
Supervises employees including selecting, training, assigning and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and/or terminating
Performs other related duties as required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other related scientific or technical discipline
12+ years of hands on experience, of which at least 8 years is specialized experience in data center and network operations maintenance and management; or without degree 14 or more years of experience related to position
Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance
At least U.S. Resident
Active PMP certification
At least one current technical certification: MCSE, MCSA, CCNA, CCNP or equivalent, Azure cloud
Experience with supporting infrastructure for M365 a plus
Previous experience managing a technical team on a federal government contract
7+ years managing technical teams
Hands-on experience with infrastructure/network operations support to include the ability to step in when team member is absent to cover knowledge gaps
Experience developing and implementing operational plans, processes, and infrastructure methodologies and training team members on these plans to meet contract SLA/SLR requirements
Experience in operations and project management
Considerable knowledge of network-based systems operations and maintenance
Strong knowledge of network and cable management systems
Knowledge of data center operations and capacity planning
Knowledge of methods and procedures for troubleshooting incidents and outages
Hands-on knowledge of data center networks, storage area networks (SAN), Linux, MS Windows and VMWare environments
Strong customer-focus skills with ability to recognize customer requirements, assist customer in achieving their goals, manage customer expectations and consistently achieve high customer satisfaction
Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Strong organizational and management skills; ability to efficiently manage a variety of multiple concurrent projects simultaneously
Ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
Ability to manage numerous projects and activities simultaneously, ensuring the correct priorities are assigned and initiatives are completed within resource constraints.
Be on call for critical systems outages and have the ability to set up and run the Incident/Outage Communications Bridge
Oversee maintenance activities during 2nd shift and escalations from 2nd shift.
Oversee maintenance during weekend as and when required.
