Job Description

GDIT is looking for an Electronics Technician for Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Must have a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment.  Travels to various sites to perform repairs and troubleshoot problems.  Prepares / inspects equipment for Direct exchange, processes equipment for shipment to JBLM and OEM locations. Will be required to assist in logistical support  to and from field, and TDY locations.  Travel is required for position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, monitors, and directs daily activities/work requirements within C5ISR Regional Support Center (RSC).
  • Supervise field level maintenance on satellite communication terminals to include WIN-T INC 1 and INC 2, Trojan Lite systems, Prophet Spirals and associated devices and other C5ISR communication platforms.
  • Devises methods and accumulates data for statistical, recurring or special reports pertaining to maintenance activities.
  • Ensures that all current maintenance directives from higher headquarters are implemented and monitors the progress of the shop toward goals and standards and frequently inspects to ensure compliance with published directives.
  • Provides guidance on long-range planning, and approves major changes in operating procedures. Incumbent has authority and responsibility to develop, implement and control procedural policies within the shop.
  • Ensure work is evaluated in terms of maintenance performance, timely and effective management, soundness of decisions, and recommendations made, and conformance to establish polices.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Production Control and Logistics operations to maintain property accountability.
  • Pinpoints and replaces defective parts; conducts operational tests, aligns and adjust repaired equipment.
  • Uses hand and small power tools and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
  • Assists in the solution of practical design and test problems on new, obsolete or modified equipment configurations.
  • Fabricates, installs, maintains, and repairs electronic, mechanical, and/or other types of components and equipment. 
  • Determines most efficient work sequences by trying various step-by-step procedures.
  • Sets up test apparatus and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards and sequences.
  • Performs a range of technical tasks and provides site support.
    Modifies, moves, and installs a range of new equipment.
  • Troubleshoots a range of hardware and software problems and interconnectivity issues.
  • Performs a range of integrity testing and interviews customers to gather information about problems.
  • Prepares and presents a range of incident/performance reports to the customer and to the service delivery manager.
  • Provides advice and a range of onsite training for customer support personnel.
  • May coach and review the work of less-experienced professionals.
  • TDY may be required for position

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS plus 5 years’ experience, AA/AS plus 7 years’ experience, or a High School diploma and 9 years’ experience

Qualifications: 

   Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance required, able to obtain Top Secret/SCI.

  • The successful candidate will have experience to include: knowledge of electronic components, use of manual and automated test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.).
  • Working knowledge (formal training and practical experience) of engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and electronic schematics.
  • Familiarity with the use of spectrum analyzers, power meters and signal generators desire.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate written and verbally
