The Systems Engineer Advisor is a strong, self-motivated, solution-oriented individual who will be joining an experienced team to support the implementation and sustainment of multiple networks. We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic systems engineer to join us in delivering high quality IT systems.
Responsible for developing, testing, implementing and deploying the Cyber Network Defense Infrastructure hardware and software that are required to effectively manage the computer network defense (CND) service provider network resources
Will work within our CND engineering office providing but not limited to; System Engineering to our Red Hat Linux and Windows Environment, VmWare Environment, SPLUNK, IDS, and other security related activities to secure and harden the CND systems
Assist Engineering with new solutions through research and collaboration with other team members and determines appropriate course of action for new initiatives
Implements new technology levels and projects as required
Ability to work independently, self-starter
Apply DISA STIG settings and patch OS/applications as required.
Create and maintain system documentation.
Mentor and learn from other team members.
Interact with end users as required and evaluate vendor products.
Make recommendations to alter architecture of software and hardware to adapt to emerging technologies.
Develop policies and standards for performing complex builds and everyday tasks.
May write and maintain scripts to automate administrative tasks.
May develop and implement testing strategies and document results.
Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and learn new technologies as assigned.
May be required to complete short-term deployments to austere locations worldwide.
May be required to perform duties outside of normal day shift hours.
The work is typically performed in an office environment, which requires normal safety precautions; work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes or equipment.
Participate in special projects as required.

BA/BS and Master’s degree – may substitute additional years of experience
Experience with infrastructure including but not limited to: data center operations, server hardware, operating systems (Windows, Linux), web servers, databases, virtualization (VMware), networking, storage, monitoring, etc.
Understanding of Agile, ITIL, DevOps practices.
Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Must meet DoD 8570 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II and CSSP-IS access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges.
ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
May be required to work evening, weekend, and holiday hours as required.
Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding and knowledge of Security Operations Centers, the ability to integrate Cyber Tools for SOC’s
Proficiency with the implementation and management of SIEM and network intrusion detection systems.
Moderate scripting experience in one or more of the following; PowerShell, Perl, Python or BASH.
Basic experience administering and Automating Linux Systems Scripting experience in PowerShell
Moderate Splunk Enterprise 6.x / 7.x proficiency with a focus on backend maintenance of a multi-server architecture deployment. (ELK/Kibana/Elastic will work as well)
