Job Description

GDIT is seeking a talented software development professional with significant experience in leading/guiding teams in developing quality business applications that can be maintained and enhanced effectively and efficiently.

HOW A SENIOR SOLUTIONS ARCHITECT WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Exhibits strong practicing advocacy for Test Driven Development (TDD) and Domain Driven Design
  • Assisting teams of developers in learning and effectively using TDD
  • Providing support by being an active developer on the team
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to others by using practices such as paired programming

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience

  • Required Experience:
    • 15+ years of object-oriented software development/programming experience
    • 5+ year using TDD in exclusively for all code development responsibilities

  • Required Skills and Abilities:
    • Experience utilizing Java for object-oriented design and development
    • Ability to design code that is testable, maintainable, and extensible
    • Ability to build new/replacement systems and modifying/migrating existing legacy systems using TDD approaches
    • Experience using several unit test tools/frameworks in support of TDD
    • Experience using VersionOne or other agile based work management tools
    • Ability to coach and mentor developers
    • Ability to advocate to managers and product owners in the benefits of TDD

  • Security Clearance Level:
    • Ability to obtain (and maintain) USPS Sensitive Security Clearance (Public Trust)
    • The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years; The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days. We can only accept Green Card Holders or US Citizens for this program

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
