General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Network Architect to support our Navy customer in Crane, Indiana. Principle Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide IT strategy, design and buildout services for RDT&E workstations, servers and infrastructure to ensure that operability requirements are up to date
Provide IT strategy design and buildout services for current and emerging technologies
Follow ITIL® best practices focused on aligning IT services with the needs of business
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture and infrastructure including installation, test, upgrades, and other required maintenance
Follow an SDLC to capture requirements, design, develop, test, and deploy technical solutions from cradle-to-grave using proper change control processes and procedures within a large-scale enterprise that uses multi-deployment phased (Lab, Alpha, Beta, Production) sites.
Provide network administration and network security on all circuits entering NSWC Crane (i.e., Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN), Secure Defense Research and Engineering Network (SDREN) and circuits and connecting other NSWC activities
Familiar with Cisco ASA & ACI installation, configuration, and maintenance
Familiar with Software Defined Networking principles and practical application
Proficient in Firewall installation, configuration, and maintenance, to include ACL creation and editing on a multi-domain multi-site infrastructure
Participates in the development and implementation of network-related procedures and standards.
Participates in and may lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades.
Familiar with advanced routing principles as they pertain to Cisco products
Familiar with virtual networking practices: setting up, maintaining, & troubleshooting virtual networks and connections
Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems.
May provide work leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Participates in special projects as required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
8+ years of directly related experience in network administration and support.
Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in network administration and support.
Comprehensive knowledge of routers, switches, patch panels, concentrators, associated terminals, and related network hardware and software.
Comprehensive knowledge of desktop operating systems and applications.
May require professional certification in one or more specific technologies, depending on job assignment.
CISSP or CASP preferred
US citizenship; must be able to obtain a Secret clearance prior to employment; Interim/full Secret preferred
