***This position will be a combination of full/part-time based on requirements and for no more than 6 months duration.

This opening is for a Senior Network Engineer to work remotely and on-site in Hawaii with a government customer as the technical lead for a team of experienced Network Engineers with skills in routing, switching and voice implementations.  This is a high visibility role and the candidate selected will lead the modernization of a multi-base, local area network / Software Defined Access (SDA) infrastructure. This individual will oversee and support the implementation of the approved design, migrate user and voice endpoints, and (at a high level) support the Cisco-based network throughout implementation, migration and into operations. 

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelors Degree or equivalent and preferably possess extensive skills in one or more of the following areas:

Network security (Firewall, VPN, etc.)

Advanced routing protocol configuration and redistribution (BGP, OSPF, ISIS, LISP)

VRF configuration, routing and route leaking (RT, RD, MPBGP)

Implementation of Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA Center services (Radius, TACACS+, SNMP v2+, AAA)

Familiarity with Cisco Software Defined (SDN) technologies (LISP, VXLAN, pxGrid)

Understanding of network services such as DHCP, NTP, AAA, 802.1x, and DNS

Responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer

  • Responsible for network infrastructure design and detailed documentation, integration, operations, troubleshooting and issue resolution

  • Write assessment and design reports, and present them to customers

  • Assess, design, implement, troubleshoot, and document Cisco networks and related systems

  • Provide knowledge transfer and informal training to clients as needed

  • Develop both high-level and detailed implementation and test plans for Cisco and other technologies related to enterprise network

  • Develop documentation as it relates to project requirements, and assist with or develop customer facing presentations of technology solutions


Requirements of the Senior Network Engineer - CCIE

  • Must have DoD Directive 8570/8410, IAT III Compliant Certification (CISA, CISSP, CCNP Security)

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

  • Active CCIE in Routing and Switching is *strongly* preferred, but SME level knowledge is essential with or without the CCIE

  • Skills in one or more of the following areas a plus: Cisco Data center technologies, Network security (Firewall, VPN, etc.), Cisco ISE, Cisco DNA Center, LAN/WAN Troubleshooting

  • Certifications in multiple technology areas are a significant plus

  • Strong consultative skill set to include communications with varying levels of customer personnel as well as the ability to identify and help close new opportunities within existing clients

  • Must be able to work with practice lead to coordinate scheduling to meet customer needs, sometimes juggling multiple projects at one time

  • Able to travel within the region or work remotely as needed to support consulting customers

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship  

  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background investigation
