GDIT is looking for a Senior Full-stack Engineer to lead building modern digital health services on behalf of the Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS). The project involves implementing highly interactive and modern web interfaces with React that will be used by healthcare providers across the country. The system is backed by Node business services implemented in a microservices paradigm. Some of these services will be exposed for public consumption and some are used for enterprise integration. The system will support upwards of tens of thousands of concurrent users.

The project will be implemented using an Agile, Scrum-based process that includes Sprint Planning/Review/Retrospectives and daily stand-ups. The team uses human-centered design to implement highly modern, usable interfaces. This position is open to a senior to principal professional that ideally has technical leadership experience.

This is a remote based role working 100% from home. Candidate must reside in the US.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Building full-stack applications using JavaScript technologies and developing front-end web user interfaces with React

  • Designing RESTful backend microservices and developing them using Node.js, and build tools like webpack with babel

  • Using Test-Driven Development and automated testing frameworks using Enzyme

  • Ensuring your code builds and deploys properly through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes built in Jenkins

  • Working as part of a dynamic, interactive Agile team developing and delivering digital services

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in technological or related field and a minimum of 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years’ experience building full-stack applications using JavaScript technologies

  • 3+ years’ experience developing front-end web user interfaces with React

  • 1+ year experience with designing RESTful backend microservices and developing them using Node.js

  • Experience with Test-Driven Development using automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Sinon, or Enzyme

  • Experience with version control tools, such as Git

  • Experience with build tools like webpack, npm, or gulp/grunt

  • Experience ensuring your code builds and deploys properly through Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment processes built in Jenkins

  • Expertise working as part of a dynamic, interactive Agile team developing and delivering digital services. Experience with Scrum and SAFe strongly preferred

  • Experience using and coordinating with other developers using digital tools such as Slack

  • Knowledge of modern design patterns and building enterprise-grade production applications

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English

  • Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident with ability to obtain a public trust (CMS requires that you have lived in the US 3 out of the last 5 years)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience as technical lead of a high performing Scrum team preferred but not required

  • Experience working in the healthcare industry

  • Federal Government contracting work experience

  • Prior experience working remotely full-time

  • Experience with cloud native database integration, relational (PostgreSQL) preferred

  • Experience with SASS/SCSS or css-in-js type approaches for stylesheets highly preferred

  • Experience with AWS and Docker highly preferred

This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.

The likely salary range for this position is $87,025 - $145,332, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
