Join an exciting and dynamic team delivering a large-scale Enterprise Common Tools cloud platform, automation & orchestration, and Cloud Application Migration effort for the Army. This team works in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with engineering, migration, and operations & sustainment of cloud migration efforts. Enterprise Common Tools and specific Army program customer migration efforts provide a range of day-to-day challenges, while the bigger picture architecture and migration efforts provide tangible milestones that the team pursues together following AGILE practices, to deliver the overall program effort. We’re looking for self-starter Leads and technical engineers, to work both as part of the team and on individual assignments, in an environment of customer mission delivery, integrity and communications. We’re looking to fill this role/team with those who currently have the cloud experience, certifications, and skills to execute in large enterprise environments, are flexible and enjoy tackling challenges, and desire to join a large team that is building and sustaining a large multi-tenant cloud platform/enterprise and migrating/expanding/automating the enterprise. As a Cloud Engineering and Architecture Lead supporting Army PEO EIS, you will be trusted to work on providing oversight of all project aspects focusing on fulfilling business and technical performance, cost, and schedule objectives for delivering Cloud Hosted and Cloud Native products and services.

In this role, a typical day will include the responsibilities below:

  • The Cloud Lead will work with Customer and Program stakeholders to maintain and prioritize a backlog of development, engineering, and design tasking.
  • The Cloud Lead shall assign engineering and design tasking requirements to personnel and supervise on-going cloud technical efforts as a tasking and team leader.
  • This person shall be readily available to respond to Customer questions, concerns, and comments, as well as be proactive in alerting the Customer to potential contractual or programmatic issues.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of the Cloud Backlog, Roadmap, and operations to achieve the strategic objectives of the Customer and the Program. Works with program leadership to ensure this cloud roadmap is aligned with and supports the enterprise architecture/mission and business needs.
  • Collaborates with all Technical work streams to ensure projects comply with directives, roadmap, and that services running in production cloud environments are delivering on the intended objectives, and to identify and deconflict dependencies between workstreams.
  • The Cloud Lead will provide business and technical strategy, solution development and technical guidance to develop, maintain, and market missions set solutions based on cloud service offerings.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies of high complexity.
  • Assists customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain specific ontologies.

Required qualifications: 

This position requires a minimum of 10 Years IT experience of which 5 years must be in a commercial cloud or hybrid deployment environment.

Experience should include:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science/systems, information systems/technology, engineering/engineering technology, software
  • 5+ years technical experience in architecture/design
  • Experience and understanding of Infrastructure as Code, Automation, and Orchestration
  • Solution development and application, software architecture and cloud solutions;
  • Experience in AWS implementation to include core AWS resources (VPC, EC2, S3 etc.) and advanced AWS resources (lambda, cloud front)
  • Experience in setting up AWS Cognito Identity and Access management tool and ADFS and providing access to integrate applications via API Gateway
  • Experience engineering and automating cloud operations using a DevSecOps tool suite.
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, SecDevOps, and ServiceNow tool suites a plus
  • Knowledge and experience in building APIs within AWS and API Gateway
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools including executing and managing work in a SCRUM framework
  • Planning, directing, and managing complex IT engineering projects/operations similar in size and scope.
  • Knowledge and experience in infrastructure design and engineering; up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging Cloud and infrastructure technologies
  • Demonstrated experience with the management and supervision of a significant number of Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers of various labor categories and skills in projects similar in size and scope;
  • Demonstrated skills, including experience in presenting material to senor Government officials
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or III Certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • AWS Solution Architect Professional Certification
  • AWS DevOps Engineer
  • CompTIA Security+ or Equivalent
  • ITIL Certified

Clearance

  • Active Secret Clearance with SSBI or Favorable T5 background
