The Training Support Staff (TSS) Lead manages the flow of daily work within the training support team which includes setting priorities and managing assignments in accordance with the Training Directorate management team. Training Support Staff Lead duties include the following tasks:

  • Prioritize, assign, and track TSS workload;
  • Review TSS work products for quality;
  • Develop training support processes to increase the efficiency of the training support team;
  • Schedule meetings, generating agendas at the direction of the meeting manager, and record meeting minutes.

General Requirements. 

The TSS Lead must be proficient in using Adobe Acrobat and the full Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio) to edit and format training course materials; write, organize, and track correspondence; schedule day-to-day meetings; and to complete various special projects and other assignments as tasked. This position is full-time, on-site at CSFE Port Hueneme, CA.

NOTE: Due to COVID-19 safety precautions the employee will work remotely until restrictions are lifted, at which time the position will again be on-site at CSFE. Candidate must have the ability to work independently with minimal distraction and have secure, dependable high-speed internet.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Excellent written communication skills are a requirement of employment.

Candidate must be proficient in the grammatical rules of the English language and have working knowledge of the Naval Correspondence Manual. 

Basic administrative skills to include writing and routing correspondence.

Proofreading of educational material.

It is preferred, but not required, that candidates have a strong US Navy Personnel Specialist or Yeoman (or other service equivalent) background. 

Education.

High School diploma or equivalent (GED).

Candidate must reside within commutable distance of Port Hueneme, CA.

Candidate must be a US citizen and be able to pass a qualifying background investigation to meet eligibility requirements for an IT Level II Common Access Card (CAC). Candidates with a qualifying background investigation (NACLC or higher within the last 10 years), will receive preferred consideration.
