GDIT is seeking a Project Manager / Emergency Response Coordinator to join our team in support of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) – COVID-19 Activation.  This position is for full time employment with the ability to earn extra hours in support of this demanding response work.  You will have the opportunity to initially work 100% from home due to COVID-19 restrictions and later transition full time to the CDC Roybal Campus located in Atlanta, Georgia.

The purpose of this position is as a team coordinator with the largest task force under the CDC COVID-19 Activation.  As a senior level project manager, responsibilities include managing assigned GDIT projects to include personnel and some business development.   The Health Systems and Worker Safety (HSWS) Task Force has over 250 members.  This task force is involved in providing guidance to clinicians and monitoring public health inquires along with guidance for essential workers.

Coordinators are assigned to Incident Management System (IMS) leadership teams with the responsibility to coordinate, organize, and manage team activities as well as communications.  Coordinators are responsible for a variety of critical tasks to assure the operational needs of a team. 

This role will require work on weekends and nights as well as normal weekday hours as scheduled by emergency response leadership. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Synchronize a variety of team activities to include the operational tempo, support requirements, personnel deployments, and ensuring leadership is appraised of all relevant communications and assigned tasks.
  • Manage and triage assigned functional Outlook mailbox(s) and MS Teams site(s) in accordance with established standard operating procedures to include requests for information/actions and ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept informed.
  • Coordinate the specific three key functions of task tracking, staffing, and clearance.
    • Formal Task Tracking of all assigned tasks from a variety of sources from initial assignment to conclusion along with completion documentation.
    • The formal staffing process involves the use of the CDC approved automation system, current statues of all personnel assigned to the team, onboarding of new individuals, pending departures, and identification of gaps for resolution.
    • Formal document clearance process includes understanding of both the importance of properly cleared documents and how to operate within the clearance process.
  • Communicate effectively with leadership ensuring the best support possible of the team lead and deputy(s).
  • Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders that represent functional positions within the IMS structure and external partners outside of the COVID-19 Activation to include at the Federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal jurisdictions.
  • Responsible for administrative duties such as review of work schedules, hours worked, and appropriate time off.
  • Supervise assigned GDIT personnel to include daily employee accountability and provide overwatch of other contractor personnel.
  • Develop assigned GDIT personnel with all appropriate tools to include formal training resulting in the most potential possible on an individual and collective basis.
  • Manage assigned GDIT projects to include recruiting and hiring actions along with financial statuses; an understanding of the CDC Emergency Response Request (ERR) system is important for success.
  • Perform business development tasks to include proposal writing/development as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors in related field and 5+ years related experience required, or Masters and 2+ years related experience
  • Must be U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) clearance
  • Project management proficiency is required

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Superior written and verbal skills.  Must write succinctly and clearly and explain complex situations in plain English to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Portfolio Management experience preferred
  • Documented proposal development skills
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
  • Ability to learn the CDC mission, organizational structure, and activation IMS structure; work effectively and efficiently with other CDC offices and IMS sections
  • Experience supporting CDC activation activities and completion of ICS100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 coursework
