GDIT is seeking IT and Cybersecurity Interns to join our dynamic team in Crane, IN to assist the Naval Surface Warfare Center – Crane Division. The IT/CS Intern will Review and update documentation for policies, procedures, standards, SOP’s based on GDIT guidelines. Interns will work closely with Network Administrators, System Administration, Database Administrator and Program Developers to understand hardware and software requirements for current maintenance requirements and future system purchases. The Intern will learn and understand Plan of Actions and Milestones (POAM) and relevancy to IT security and compliance. Inters will provide first level compliance monitoring and investigations under the guidance of the IT Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in the configuration and maintenance of desk tops and software installation.
  • Performs backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity.
  • Install certificates to remove certificate errors in internet explorer, etc.
  • Assist with the deployment and upkeep of the Information Security Department’s website content.
  • Assist with vulnerability assessments
  • Install software from the server and the internet.
  • Manage the office machines and equipment
  • Record and Track IT Security Incidents

Other duties include:

  • Coordinating with other IT professionals, DoD associates, and management personnel.
  • Designing, developing, fabricating, and testing networks and computer systems.
  • Resolving complicated issues and working on critical IT/CS problems.
  • Working in a team environment giving full contribution.
  • Create detailed technical documentation including process docs, network maps, etc.

Desired Qualifications:

Must be enrolled in an accredited College/University. Expertise with Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical, attention to detail, and communications skills. Self-motivated to work autonomously and with direct supervision.
