GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Material Coordinator at Ft. Lewis, WA. Must have a current and active Secret clearance.
Operates within all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), and Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA).
Use Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army) to enter, update and maintain maintenance records.
Shipping and receiving frequent lifting of materials and products up to 50 pounds.
Establish and maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, accounting and supply reports.
Review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents.
Unload, unpack, count, segregate, palletize and store incoming supplies and equipment.
Construct bins, shelving and other storage aids.
Simplify and standardize the collection and use of maintenance data.
Raise the quality and accuracy of performance, cost and parts data through improved maintenance management.
Verifies and keeps automated and manual records on incoming/outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
Performs preventive maintenance and machinery operation of forklift requiring the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
Prepare shipment IAW ITAR standards for international shipments.
Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled.
Acquires and maintains Hazardous Material Shipping and Fork Lift Operation certifications.
BA/BS, 0+ 3 years experience
Current and Active Secret clearance.
High school diploma and above.
Must be able to work with minimum or no supervision.
Valid Washington State Driver’s License.
Experience with standard the Standard Army Maintenance System-E (SAMSE), perform routine database update entries, maintain routine communications using email, phone, and general status briefings, and provide other logistical support at the CECOM RSC JBLM.
Must have experience using Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army) Plus.
Ammo-62 Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials is a plus
Knowledge of standard military transportation/distribution procedures a plus.
