GDIT is looking for a Software Automation Tester to join our Cloud Engineering and Migration team to support cloud migration projects for our federal customers.  You will work with a team of developers, architects, and Subject Matter Experts to develop test automation framework / suites and test applications in the Cloud.

You should have a good understanding of Web applications, software services, database experience.  You should also embrace the DevOps culture and be able to test with minimal guidance. If you are passionate about teaching, learning, re-engineering, automating, and working in a highly collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.  As a Sr. Software Automation Tester/Lead supporting National Institute of Health (NIH) National Library of Medicine (NLM), you will test applications migrated into the Cloud (AWS).

Even though this is primarily a remote position, you must be able to work at the client location in Bethesda as needed, so you would need to be within a reasonable commuting distance.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Collaborating with NIH-NLM testing COTs applications migrated into the cloud (AWS)
  • Writing, designing, and executing automated tests by creating scripts using Java, Ruby, Bash and Python
  • Writing, executing, and maintaining automated system integration testing, UAT, integration testing, API testing, smoke testing, positive/negative tests, functional tests, front-end and back-end test scenarios
  • Writing documentation, in Confluence, for automated processes, including test plans, test procedures, test cases and test results
  • Performing Load and Performance testing using JMeter or Blazemeter
  • Logging and documenting bugs in the JIRA tracking system


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of five years of experience in developing Test Automation framework using languages, such as Java, Ruby, Bash and Python for Web Applications
  • Minimum of five years of experience with tools, including Selenium, Cucumber, Pytest, JUnit, and Maven.
  • Experience using JMeter and Postman
  • Experience in setting up Continuous Integration using Bamboo, Jenkins or Gitlab
  • Experience using PowerShell Scripting and Unix/Linux Shell Scripting
  • Experience with traditional SQL databases, including experience developing SQL queries
  • Experience working with Scrum Projects
  • Experience with GitHub or Bitbucket source code control systems, branching and merging
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and building test automation frameworks
  • Experience presenting test results to senior-level stakeholders
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance


  • Hands-on AWS Cloud experience
  • Familiarity with Containers (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.), Checkmarx and Artifactory
  • Ability to convey complex technical concepts to less technical audiences
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies
