Job Description

Software Test Engineer

Ensure the safety and security of our nation as a Software Test Engineer at GDIT. You’ll apply the latest technology and provide operational support to deliver actionable intelligence for the Intelligence Community. Here, your work will have meaning and impact as you deliver your best every day.

Our work depends on engineer joining our team to support the deployment of software capabilities centered on our comprehensive motion imagery software suite. The Software Test Engineer will focus on the integration testing of those capabilities.


HOW A SOFTWARE ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

● Performs software integration testing (SWIT)

● Perform systems integration testing (SIT)

● Perform both automated and manual testing of newly developed web-based software as well as regression testing on legacy software.

● Create regression and automation tests against APIs; submitting thousands of records to an API and recording responses received and comparing those responses to expected responses.

● Develop test review reporting strategies, to include reporting on test coverage, statistical results and trends over time.

● Follow existing test cases and create new test cases to support newly created software and APIs. 

● Testing of server-side APIs as well as demonstrated proficiency in UI testing.

● Responsible for documenting any bugs or deficiencies found during testing.

● Communicate and collaborate the Development Team and Systems Team as needed and in a timely fashion.  

● Flexibility to work evening hours at times to meet customer deliverable deadlines.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

● Education: Bachelor’s in computer science or related engineering disciplines

● Required Experience: 5+ years of related experience and experience in full lifecycle development of embedded software for DOD technical development efforts.

● Required Technical Skills: Java, Node.js, Python, Kubernetes, Docker, React.js, Bash, XML, JMeter, experience with a developer IDE such as IntelliJ, or Visual Studio Code, experience with Selenium, RestAssured or similar integration test frameworks.

● Security Clearance Level: None

● Required Skills and Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively with DevOps and Systems Team. Ability to meet test deadlines.
