GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a Field Engineer with COVN-K VSAT experience. Must have a current and active Top Secret clearance and DoD 8570 Certification. The Combined Operational Very Small Aperture Terminal Network-Korea (COVN-K) VSAT Engineer performs all aspects of system integration, maintenance, repair and training of satellite and telecommunication systems. The COVN-K VSAT Engineer provides support throughout the Korean peninsula. The COVN-K VSAT Engineer will demonstrate mastery of VSAT and telecommunications concepts, practices, and procedures and provide expert guidance on these issues.
Must possess the technical experience in support of all COVN-K systems; knowledge of radio frequency (RF) theory, satellite communications and computer networks. Integrate and maintain satellite systems. Monitor systems to ensure they maintain the proper ESNO/SNR. Perform advanced diagnostics to troubleshoot problems. Ability to repair, replace and configure all components associated with each system to include satellite communication components, computers, routers, wiring, power supplies, etc. Travels to remote customer locations. Conducts research on new products and technologies. Maintains knowledge of relevant technologies. Participates in special projects and accepts other duties as assigned.
Position requires self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision. Must demonstrate the ability demonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive team as well as to work independently and be able to interact with all levels of an organization in a professional, diplomatic, and tactful manner. Must be able to multi-task efficiently, work in a fast paced environment on multiple projects, and have strong attention to detail. Must possess excellent writing and verbal skills. Qualified candidate must have a Top Secret clearance and be proficient with Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of experience
Current and Active Top Secret Clearance
Extensive experience with SATCOM systems.
US passport must not expire for at least 2 more years and must have at least 4 consecutive blank pages in it
DOD 8570 certifications.
Intermediate experience working with DSCS or Commercial Satellite Terminals as specified in the task order to include:
C band GATR, Vertex and Ranger Satellite Terminals
RIVERBED packet accelerators
DTECH LABS M3SE line of products
VMWARE virtualization servers
5G signal interference analysis and mitigation
IPSEC and SSL certificate encryption
FDMA, TDMA, NEWTECH DVBS2X IP Type satellite modems
