General Dynamics Information Technology has an immediate opening for a Systems Engineer Expert to support a greenfield US Air Force program implementing an MLS solution across multiple sites. This includes (but is not limited to) the following duties and responsibilities:
Ability to translate conceptual requirements into business and functional requirements.
Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems.
Analyze users requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
Analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities.
Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies.
Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
Develop system architecture and system design documentation.
Guide system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
Interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
Responsible for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
Communicate with other program personnel.
Leverages industry/government standards and widely accepted best practices to define processes and procedures that ensure secure and reliably functioning systems and services.
Manages and monitors installed systems and infrastructure, proactively ensuring a high level of infrastructure availability based on user needs and priorities.
Maintaining secure, stable configurations via change and configuration management.
Provides guidance to less-experienced Systems Engineers.
Maintains current knowledge of rapidly changing technology.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or other related technical discipline (e.g., Computer Engineering) with 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience.
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management, or other related technical discipline preferred.
Position requires a TS/SCI (DCID 6/4 eligible) clearance.
The candidate must be willing to take a CI polygraph.
Employment will be contingent until candidate is deemed eligible for SAP access by the government customer.
