At GDIT, people are our differentiator. Our work depends on an Environmental Scientist Associate joining our team to support the SMAVCS3 contract with the US EPA in Duluth, MN.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to combine education or experience in biology, chemistry and/or environmental toxicology. Key SMAVCS3 consumers include EPA Office of Research and Development’s (ORD) Chemical Safety for Sustainability program and EPA’s Office of Pesticides (OPP).

The primary responsibility, under general supervision of the project leader, is to process ecotoxicology literature search citations and data for inclusion in the ECOTOXicology Knowledge Base (ECOTOX KB) and associated databases and files.

  • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply guidelines, standard operating procedures, methodologies.
  • Experience with quality assurance procedures to ensure a high level of accuracy in all aspects of the position.
  • Familiarity with peer reviewed journal article and technical report formats and associated scientific (biology, chemistry and ecotoxicology) terms and language.
  • Strong knowledge of common software applications, including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe; general skills in learning and basic use of a wide range of software including but not limited to bibliographic and data entry software.

  • Detail-oriented with a positive, solution-oriented attitude.
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete individual tasks which contribute to a larger framework.
