GDIT is seeking an experienced, detailed oriented person responsible for supporting mission-critical business strategic planning and project delivery efforts. This individual will work actively with the business community to identify business problems with systematic and process solutions that fit with company/customer system architecture and policy standards. Specifically, the candidate will support business case development for strategic planning as well as actively work on a project delivery team as a Senior Business Analyst.

Responsibilities

  • Business Case development responsibilities will include
    • Collaborate with organizational stakeholders and sponsors to develop and present business cases.
    • Collaborate with departments to identify, document, and communicate business needs and provide IT solutions.
    • Identify problem/root causes and link those identified to new capability/project deliverables.
    • Determine total cost of ownership (TCO) estimates.
    • Establish value based metrics for decision making assessments.
    • Plan, elicit, capture, analyze and validate business, functional, and technical requirements.
    • Define specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) goals for the business case.

  • Project Delivery responsibilities will include
    • Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walk-throughs with business and IT resources.
    • Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications, and functions.
    • Produce timely and high quality requirements-related work products, including requirement specifications, process flows, mock-ups and wireframes.
    • Plan, facilitate, and execute system, functional, and performance testing.
    • Collaborate with delivery team and stakeholders to develop training materials for end users.

Other responsibilities will include:

  • Become deeply immersed and knowledgeable about core business functions, processes and workflows associated with assigned business areas and projects.
  • Understand the relationships, dependencies, and impact of neighboring business functions.
  • Understand core systems, applications, and technical platforms.
  • Document, analyze, and assess current business processes and underlying systems / applications.
  • Evolve into a subject-matter expert who can easily liaise between IT and other departments.
  • Learn IT Infrastructure processes and systems flows, and have the ability to consider implications to current and future state environment as well as impacts to end users.

To be considered, candidates MUST HAVE the following:

  • 5 years minimum industry experience (with a four-year degree) or nine years industry experience in lieu of a degree (must include strategic and business case development)
  • Agile Application Lifecycle Management (ALM)
  • Waterfall (sequential development) methodology
  • 3-5 yrs. experience with Service Model development support
  • MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent public speaker with solid presentation skills
  • Possess the ability to work independently on complex tasks which require analysis and action
  • Possess the ability to work well with staff members and user community, especially with senior business management staff, and interact with employees at all levels of the company

Preferred skills include:

  • Experience with any of the project delivery tools JIRA, Confluence, Service Now, MS Project 2016, Service Now PPM.
  • Experience with bid and proposal writing is a plus.
  • ITIL 4 Foundation certification

Work hours may include meetings schedule outside of normal working hours. Demands during peak times may require work hours outside of normal working hours. Occasional travel may be required.
