This is new and exciting enterprise wide work for a modernization effort. Eagle Alliance (EA) is pursuing a Systems Engineer to support a globally distributed enterprise Linux desktop services (ELDS) solution. The solution is comprised of several back-end management technologies and provides both Virtual Desktop and thick client experiences. The position is within EA’s Digital Services framework, supporting a growing base of highly technical end users providing critical functions and services within EA’s overall customer organization. The system engineer will interact with end users in the customer space as well as back-end services within the EA space.
Linux systems engineer skillset with a focus on desktop support
Work as part of a geographically distributed team or alone in response to both tactical and strategic needs
Participate in after-hours support via on call rotations
Exceptional customer service, customers will include;
Contract partner organizations
Internal teams to EA, such as Datacenter Virtualization, VDI, Networking teams
Operations and maintenance of systems providing various desktop management functions within the overall ELDS solution
Operations and maintenance of a Linux desktop image and associated applications
Ongoing modernization of the solution to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
Previous experience in enterprise level desktop support
Familiarity with Linux distributions;
Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Familiarity with various open source technologies;
Familiarity with scripting or programming;
Familiarity with delivering applications to Linux desktops in multiple ways
Able to prioritize multiple concurrent taskings in concert with the team, framework and company levels
Linux system administration certification, Red Hat strongly preferred
Familiarity with Red Hat Satellite systems management strongly desired
Experience performing enterprise scale migrations from legacy to modernized systems and solutions
TS/SCI with Poly required.
