The Architect’s role is to plan & develop the overall logical and technical IT architecture and engineering plans for all end user IT services, devices, and their corresponding IT support platforms. This individual will provide technical leadership and consulting across the organization to enact technology platform modernization and sanction changes in delivery methods to improve the customer experience, from strategic decision making down to the project planning level. The Architect will gain organizational commitment for all high-level plans and initiate and participate in projects to evaluate technologies and methods for implementing these plans.

The Architect will be engaged on a regular basis with our government customers, GDIT Management, GDIT alliance partners, and our subcontractors.  The candidate will have a working knowledge of Federal mandates for Government IT modernization and end user services, technologies, devices, and support platforms. The candidate will evaluate the technical state of the program, as well as enable and develop end user digital transformation and innovation roadmaps and projects for our customer.

Typically, the architect will:

  • Provide technical engineering services across our customer’s enterprise for agency-wide end-user computing platforms for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, device configurations, technical refreshes and customer data migrations for hardware and software.
  • Be able to rationalize end user operating systems and agency applications residing on the government’s devices and develop recommendations for improving the user experience, while modernizing delivery methods and technologies.
  • Developing techniques for improving the support and testing of new hardware and software, while monitoring refresh deployments for our government customer.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the program and strategic business plans and goals.
  • The candidate should possess engineering architectural expertise of end user systems, virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI), devices and support platforms; and be able to provide direction and assistance to other engineers and support staff.
  • Document and develop in-depth knowledge of existing IT architecture, infrastructure, and technology portfolios. Can develop, document, communicate, and enforce a technology standards policy.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies to support modernizing the end user experience, while recommending technologies that will increase cost effectiveness, end user productivity, and flexibility.
  • Develop, document, make recommendations, and communicate plans for investing in end user IT infrastructure, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.
  • Design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end end user collaboration systems.
  • Support developing and executing of test plans to check end user related systems for performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with Government leads to define business requirements for complex systems development and has the capability to get acceptance for proof of concepts and deployments.
  • Review new and existing IT projects, systems design, and procurement/outsourcing plans for compliance with IT standards and architectural plans.
  • Architect and engineer security compliance proposals to include OS patching, end user device encryption, configuration management, remote device management, VDI management, and reporting.
  • architect and engineer automated software deployment support and consultancy to end user workstations, mobile devices, and virtual desktops via a standardized enterprise management solution.
  • Direct and provide consultancy in the development of software delivery packages for the removal, replacement, and/or upgrading of applications and patches across the enterprise and a library of IT Standard Configurations Documents, policies, and procedures for publication on internal websites, as well as oversight to maintain currency.
  • Develop policies and procedures for monitoring the software inventory loaded on end user devices, to include staying knowledgeable of agency-wide COTS software agreements and licenses.
  • Architect and engineer the creation and maintenance of the “Gold” (Common Core) images that will be used on end user physical hardware and as the basis for VDI images.



  • A Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering. An additional 8 years of experience may substitute for the degree.  
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a technical engineering environment, including prior experience as an architect and hands-on experience with business requirements gathering/analysis.
  • Knowledge in core enterprise applications, including ServiceNow, MS O365 and Teams. Microsoft Endpoint Manager – to include SCCM, Endpoint security management (e.g., SentinelOne, Tanium), Google platform products (e.g., Contact Center AI)
  • In-depth technical knowledge of PC’s, networks, and platform operating systems, including VDI and Citrix. Strong knowledge of end user hardware and software evaluation principles and practices.
  • Be able to provide consultancy for the use and distribution of applications within Citrix environments, on-premise (e.g., Nutanix) or in the Cloud.
  • Experience modernizing VOIP technologies including CISCO and Avaya’s Family of Communications products
  • ITIL certification (v4 preferred)


  • Agile or SAFe certification
  • Experience with Platform automation (e.g., ServiceNow) and/or RPA (e.g., UiPath) integrations.
  • Designing solutions that incorporate Microsoft 365, Automated Call Distribution (ACD) in the Cloud (e.g., NICE), and Video & Web Teleconferencing (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
