We have an exciting opportunity to support U.S. Army Europe in Stuttgart, Germany as Geospatial Developer on our EMITS Program team.

The Geospatial Developer will be responsible for the Design, Development and Publishing of Map Layers, working directly with the client to understand business requirements needed to modify/create maps. Candidate should be proficient in developing maps using, Leaflet, Esri, ArcGIS skills and strong database skills. Interaction with the Customer business and developer personnel will require strong communication skills. Our team is looking for well-organized, self-directed applicants who have experience with the suite of desktop and server software as well as with developing desktop and web-based GIS applications using a variety of programming languages.

You will be responsible for working with a core team to manage large and small GIS projects for a wide range of applications. You may be called upon to assist with the design, development and maintenance of geospatial applications through concept, design, and implementation phases. Your role will also include supporting other personnel in utilizing GIS applications and software as well as interfacing with clients and teaming partners.


  • Active TS/SCI Clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in GIS, geography, computer science, or related field or additional years of experience in GIS, geography, computer science, or related field in lieu of degree

  • 5 years of GIS development experience or equivalent college level course work.

  • Experience in AngularJS, EmberJS or other JS Frameworks

  • Experience with JavaScript, C#, HTML5, CSS3, SQL Server, MySQL

  • Experience with web services (SOAP, REST, XML and JSON)

  • Perform web development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS, AJAX on various platforms such as SharePoint 2019

  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, work independently, and quickly turnaround maps, application prototypes or deliverables.

  • Ability to use environmental data and developing applications for visualization, analysis and presentation of environmental data.

  • Strong background in data management.

  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

TESA requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus three years of recent specialized experience or;

  • Associate's degree plus seven years of recent specialized experience or;

  • Major certification plus seven years of recent specialized experience or;

  • 11 years of recent specialized experience.
