Job Description

Work with cutting-edge applications that help advance the mission as a Test Engineer at GDIT. Your work will have you fully immersed in our client’s domain in order to deliver simple solutions for their complex needs. At GDIT, you’ll prioritize the client while we prioritize your career.  

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Test Engineer in the Technology Shared Services (TSS) group supporting Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), you will be trusted to evaluate and support development of software, web, telephony, and virtual agent applications for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' Federal Facilitated Exchange (CMS FFE) project. This role will be done remotely.

HOW THE TEST ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Participate in Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, grooming, estimation) to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing
  • Bachelor's or four years relevant experience
  • Participate and collaborate with team members to assess Story Point / complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria
  • Collaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets,
  • Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (ServiceNow Test Management /JIRA)
  • Provide early exploratory testing during the development phase
  • Design, code and deploy automated test scripts
  • Maintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline.
  • Performs continuous testing for security, API, and regression suite.
  • Creates automated scripts and supports data and environment configuration.
  • Participates in code reviews, monitors, reports, and documents defects to support continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process.
  • Analyze testing outcomes to identify and document design gaps and functionality improvements and transition to Business Analyst.            
  • Apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support product testing.
  • Be familiar with any NoSQL database.
  • Execute product tests and document the test results.
  • Validate test bed across different environments and share results.
  • Ability to perform in high pressure environment and under strict deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing priorities.

​WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Proficient in the different software testing methodologies
  • Bachelor's Degree or applicable experience.
  • Proficient in API testing
  • Proficient in Gatling Execution
  • Conceptual knowledge on agile integration.  Working as part of an agile team utilizing Scrum or Kanban
  • Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies
  • 2+ years of IT experience
  • Ability to manage multiple task assignments.
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Public Trust clearance
  • Established residency in the US for at least 3 of the last 5 years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Accessibility/Sec 508 testing experience a plus
  • Develop Test Automation framework using Java/Scala REST APIs 
  • Produce estimates for new functionality or enhancements.
  • Automated Call Distribution (ACD), Interactive Voice Response (IVR) using NICE CXone, experience a plus
  • Intelligent Virtual Assistant (IVA) using Google Dialogflow experience a plus
  • Mobile testing experience a plus
  • 2+ with Java / C#, JavaScript or equivalent Programming Language
  • Automation Testing Tools (such as Automated Test Frame (ATF), Selenium WebDriver) experience

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $56,000 - $84,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
