  • Develop the design and operations support documentation for deploying switch/router/firewall infrastructure into the USPTOs enterprise network.
  • Documentation deliverables include design documents, topology drawings, operational support plans, test plans, user guides, configuration baselines, and deployment plans.
  • Documents are developed as project deliverables and must meet the USPTO SDLC standards.
  • Network topology drawings show L2 and L3 details with attention paid to the spatial layout to ensure clarity for both online and hardcopy formats.
Required technical skills:
  • Work independently to evaluate/assess the USPTO inner workings/processes; outline documentation plans so that project deliverables will satisfy Operational Readiness Reviews and Deployment Assessment expectations/milestones.
  • Collaborate with GDIT engineers in developing knowledge resources describing the infrastructure dependencies to the USPTO community and satisfy the individual expectations of the various USPTO Technical Leads.
  • Maintain meticulous historical records of decisions, correspondence, deliverables, etc. to provide evidence proving GDIT delivered on contractual obligations.
  • Research government publications/policy (e.g. NIST) to gain a detailed understanding of USPTO obligations.
  • Research vendor knowledge resources to develop Market Survey assessments to support USPTO purchasing decisions.
  • Participate in C&A audit POAM resolution for document/DOSP related findings.
  • Assimilate into new technology areas quickly when presented with new projects/work opportunities.
  • Deliver goods and services in a consistent manner which represents GDIT in a positive and professional image.
  • Above average mastery of the English language and grammar.
  • TACACS/Putty/Console login to network devices with read-access to get technical details (code version, connectivity, etc.)
  • MS Office skills, proficient in Visio and MS Word.
