HOW BEING A DATA SCIENTIST CAN MAKE AN IMPACT?

The Sponsor is seeking support in managing its data collection, optimizing understanding of its data holdings—including assessments on the quality and completeness of data over time—and support in interacting with relevant collection partners and data engineers who extract, transfer, and load the data to ensure exploitation of relevant data sets for the Sponsor’s analytic work. The Sponsor’s office serves as the lead to enhance the sophistication of analysis, develop technical capabilities that help analysts be more productive, and produce data-informed insights. The main goal of the Sponsor is to develop a relevant data management strategy for, integrate appropriate extract/transform/load services into, and develop relevant and validated analytic models to transform the organization’s narrative and open source derived data.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required Experience:

• Demonstrated experience assessing data quality and integrity.
• Demonstrated experience creating and managing various types of databases.
• Demonstrated experience developing custom database scripts, queries, and graphical interfaces.
• Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing logical data architectures.
• Demonstrated experience identifying, analyzing and implementing scalable solutions for optimizing database exploitation and processes.
• Demonstrated experience programming with Python, SQL, and NiFi.
• Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with source control software such as Git or GitHub.
• Demonstrated experience using issue management software such as Jira.
• Demonstrated experience with cloudera, impala, and cloud resources such as AWS.
• Demonstrated experience providing data visualizations.
• Demonstrated experience actively participating in data modeling project teams.
• Demonstrated experience translating business needs into actionable technical requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with configuration management.
• Demonstrated experience with performance measurement and metrics.

• Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

• Preferred Skills:

• Demonstrated experience working in the Sponsor’s IT or analytic environment.
