GDIT has an exciting opportunity available for a Technology Server /VDI SME at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. This position requires someone with a current and active TS clearance. This position requires individuals who are self-motivated, suitably experienced, qualified, and able to follow instructions clearly but also able to make command decisions on the spot in order to achieve the aims of the organization. Provides technical audiovisual, multi-media, and video support services for meetings, conferences, training sessions and other events.


Must be fully knowledgeable and capable of performing all work necessary to plan, design, develop, document, test, implement, integrate, maintain, and/or modify inside /outside cable plant, voice / video communications systems as part of the Army’s UC Architecture at the USARPAC Mission Command Facility (MCF) and USARPAC Staff locations.

  • Contractor will provide operation and maintenance support on all AV/VTC systems within the MCF.
  • The contractor will be an expert in Microsoft Server platforms from past to present operating systems
  • The contractor will manage the facilities Server environment to include but not limited to Virtual Machines (VM), Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) environment, as well all programs that will be operating in these environments within the MCF.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Must have working knowledge of the integrated hardware and software across each PLWN enclave to include:
  • Minimum 7 years of Networking Experience, preferably with Cisco equipment
  • Contractor must maintain the minimum IA Workforce Baseline Qualifications outlined in DOD 8570 for IAT Level III
  • Maintain a minimum of 96% IAVA compliance with applicable DoD regulations and checklists.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visio for laying out network technical designs for Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLANs)
  • Ability to communicate in writing, to develop policies, in-depth technical studies, develop plans or specifications necessary for carrying out recommendations for proposed network performance
  • Ability to communicate orally in preparing and conducting technical briefings, organizing and conducting training sessions for staff and customers and commercial vendors, to coordinate systems design and development.
  • Knowledge required to perform network management and help desk duties on the MCF to include ability to troubleshoot and resolve component and performance problems as they occur.
  • Ability to install LAN/WAN/WLAN hardware and software, configure, test, and interface with other peripheral components and computer systems
  • Knowledge of advanced LAN/WAN/WLAN software/hardware and network communication interface standards as used in a Cisco network such as switching, routing, 802.1x, RADIUS and TACACS+ in network operating systems on LANs, WLANs.
