At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Technical Trainer & Onboarding Specialist, you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work depends on Technical Trainer & Onboarding Specialist joining our Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 IT program in Arlington, VA.

The Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 IT program support contract provides knowledge-based, information assurance and cybersecurity IT services to the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office (JPO). Our services include program management, enterprise performance management, enterprise architecture, implementation of emerging capabilities and requirements, life cycle management, operations & maintenance, enterprise data management, service desk support and IT training. 


  • The Training Specialist assesses, designs, and conceptualizes training scenarios, approaches, objectives, plans, tools, aids, curriculum, and other state of the art technologies related to training and behavioral studies.

  • Identifies the best approach training requirements to include, but not limited to, hardware, software, simulations, course assessment and refreshment, assessment centers, oral examinations, interviews, computer assisted and adaptive testing, behavior-based assessment and performance, and team and unit assessment and measurement.

  • Develops and revises training courses.

  • Prepares training catalogs and course materials.

  • Trains personnel by conducting formal classroom courses, workshops, and seminars. 

  • Researches, analyzes, designs, develops, and prepares structured training manuals, presentation materials, and courses of study related to the operation or maintenance of IT and support systems. 

  • Implements program use of the training courses and materials that are developed.

  • Service Desk or Help Desk experience is welcomed, in-depth experience and knowledge of Microsoft Teams is preferred.


  • Security Clearance Level: Secret clearance

  • Required Experience: 5 years of experience establishing training needs, developing goals and objectives, developing training programs, and applying the instructional system development (ISD) process.

  • Required Certifications: Microsoft Office Specialist certification.

  • Education: BS/BA degree. Allowable Substitution: 3 years of additional work experience with an AA/AS Degree can be substituted for a BS or BA degree.
