GDIT is seeking a Firewall Administrator to help support our Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) NET OPS program. This is a full-time remote position.
NOTE: This position is contingent upon contract funding and customer approval.
As a Firewall Administrator, you will be responsible to troubleshoot, analyze firewall system logs, apply firewall rules, and participate in network refresh and new site installation initiatives. A typical day in this role will include:
Work within a team environment, troubleshoot, identify root cause analysis and resolve network issues.
Develop, submit, and implement Firewall Change Requests (FCR).
Coordination with firewall team and LAN engineers to implement firewall changes and plan for technical refreshes.
Participate in new technology releases as applicable to firewall.
Provide status reports to contract and customer leadership.
Attend meetings and briefings as required to provide technical expertise.
Active DoD Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
DoD 8570 IAT Level II Compliant Certification (i.e. CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security, etc)
Checkpoint Certified Security Associate (CCSA) or higher CheckPoint certification
At least 5 years’ experience
Hands-on Firewall experience
Understanding of industry standard network environments, to include firewall and security hardware and software.
Knowledge and experience with Information Assurance (IA) best practices.
Experience with LAN/WAN operations.
Working knowledge of DoD security regulations, guidelines, and policies.
Installation, configuration, and sustainment of network equipment.
Active Top Secret clearance
This position requires being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by December 8, 2021 or the start date, if after December 8.
The likely salary range for this position is $68,000 - $102,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
