ARMA-Global is currently pursuing a qualified candidate to serve as Chief Engineer over a team of IT Systems Engineers to support the Design, Development, Engineering, Integration, Testing and Implementation and Sustainment of critical technologies for our customers.

Responsibilities:

As the Chief Systems Engineer the candidate report directly to the Task Order Lead (TOL) and will work closely with a team of dedicated multi-disciplined professionals in supporting customer mission objectives. Youll be responsible for working with coworkers, partners, stakeholders and customer representatives to create effective solutions, providing support to organizational Development & Engineering projects to deliver next-generation technologies across a wide-range of services and emerging capabilities, culminating in the delivery of unparalleled sustainment of services that enhance customer mission effectiveness.

In this role you will:

  • Ensure the presence of a System of Systems engineering approach that makes success possible – tools, techniques, methods, knowledge, standards, principles, and concepts
  • Assist Program Management and Project Managers in analyzing and managing complexity and risk
  • Mentor and advise subordinate personnel
  • Be at the heart of creating successful new systems; responsible for the system of systems concept, architecture, and design
  • Analyze and manage complexity and risk
  • Be responsible for managing risk, decomposing requirements, integrating software and hardware, verification and validation processes, and project leadership
  • Support the migration of legacy on-premises services leveraging established and well-accepted design patterns
  • Commit to staying abreast of both emerging technologies and evolving customer goals and objectives
  • Engage with stakeholders and supporting teams, ensuring customer expectations, satisfaction, risks and cost is managed
  • Guide Development, Integration, Testing and sustainment activities to increase service availability, resilience, and readiness
  • Adhere to standards, policies, protocols, procedures and best practices that embody a “Best of Breed” Engineer
  • Participate in architectural and design discussions
  • Participating in strategic engagements and events, as required
  • Brief stakeholders on planned and active projects and activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires mastery of basic systems engineering principles, including transdisciplinary and integrative approaches
  • The ability to integrate IT systems into a comprehensive ecosystem of interdependent capabilities and the ability to understand how the dependencies impact systems within the ecosystem
  • Extensive experience and working knowledge of one or more operating systems
  • Extensive experience with automated testing, including Unit, Regression, Performance and Load Testing
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Chef, etc.)
  • Extensive background in Networking technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exhibit patience and understanding when working with customers
  • Ability to provide technical guidance and leadership
  • In depth understanding of DoDAF 2.0 Architectures
  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience highly desired
  • General understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), to include extensive experience with at least one programming language and/or scripting language
  • General understanding of basic cloud principles
  • Extensive knowledge of Project Management Principles
  • Basic understanding of Agile Frameworks (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, etc.)

Security Requirements:

  • Must have a SECRET clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI (TS/SCI)

Work Environment:

  • Work environment is administrative office

Education, Certification and Experience Requirements:

  • BS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and technical experience
  • 20+ years of progressive IT, Software and/or Systems Engineering in the DoD and/or Commercial industries
  • The candidate shall have an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect Associate or Professional certification
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineer Professional (CSEP) certification highly desired. But, can be waived for up to 6 months after hire for the right candidate. 
  • Obtaining INCOSE CSEP certification is a condition of continued employment beyond waived period.
  • 8570.01M IAM Level-2 certification required
  • CISCO CCNA certifications highly desired
