Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific engineering projects.Individual will conduct analysis of, develop strategies for implementing, and develop requirements for electronic protections for the missile defense system. As part of this analysis, individual will develop and execute high-fidelity models using object oriented MATLAB programming. The model will include sensor phenomenology, signal processing, detection, tracking, and discrimination algorithms. The individual will use developed models to conduct performance analyses, support trade studies, and develop requirements for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). Individual will coordinate analysis activities and products with functional group leads, senior management, and government personnel responsible for executing analysis tasks. The individual will document analysis results in reports and briefings to be presented to the Missile Defense National Team (MDNT) and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) representatives.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strong technical background in an engineering, mathematics, or scientific discipline. Experience with electronic warfare including electronic attack and electronic protection. Experience developing and architecting models and simulations using Matlab. Knowledge of radar sensing physics and signal processing techniques. Ability and willingness to learn new physical and mathematical concepts. Individual must possess good communication skills and be capable of working both independently and in a team environment.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of experience. Analysis experience in aspects of the Ballistic missile defense system (e.g., Aegis Weapons Systems, Ground-based Midcourse Defense (GMD), Fire Control (FOM, GFC), C2BMC, BMDS sensors (EO/IR/RF), kill vehicles, interceptors, countermeasures, counter-countermeasures, or threats). Experience with radar scheduling, signal processing, tracking, discrimination, and/or electronic warfare. Experience with Matlab programming for conducting analysis and describing complex phenomenon. Experience with configuration management software such as TortoiseSVN. A basic understanding of performance parameters, technical performance measures, methods and techniques definition, sensors, missiles, interceptors, detection/tracking, or Command and Control (e.g., C3I, C4I, etc.) analysis is desired. Individual with demonstrated team leadership experience is desired.
