GDIT is in need of a Network Firewall Administrator to support our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The Network Firewall Administrator is responsible for the implementation of network firewalls across coalition and mission partner networks. Configures and troubleshoots firewalls and resolves any connectivity issues. Monitors, manages, and troubleshoots perimeter security devices to include: firewalls, IDS/IPS, routers, and switches. Implements firewall change requests. Supports existing firewall devices, such as Cisco ASA 5500 and Firepower 2100/4100, as well as Cisco IOS/IOS-XE/CatOS based routers and switches. Uses network management tools and packet captures to resolve operational issues. Supports Security Computer Incident Response Teams by implementing IP Address denials as directed. Interfaces with end-users, systems administrators, and engineers for scheduling and implementing firewall modifications.
Monitors security system logs and status. Performs daily tuning of firewall and IPS tools. Monitors, troubleshoots and performs health checks on multiple perimeter security devices. Performs recurring device maintenance activities such as applying system patches and device reboots. Routinely updates architecture diagrams using Visio. Drafts, coordinates and publishes Outage Notifications as required. Maintains standard operating procedures and guides. Creates and maintains system documentation and architecture diagrams to support the RMF accreditation process.
Qualifications
Secret Level Security Clearance with an SSBI/T5 investigation
BA/BS, 5+ years experience.
CCNA Security required; CCNP Security preferred.
First-hand experience with supporting the monitoring and configuration of Firewall/DMZ infrastructure including Network and Application Firewall Packet Filtering technologies.
Basic knowledge in configuring Cisco switches.
Must be able to meet German TESA requirements.
Must possess DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification on Day 1.
Must obtain ITIL Foundation certification within 90 days of hire.
TESA requirements:
A bachelors degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR;
An associates degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 11 years of recent specialized experience.
