The Naval Enterprise Service Desk (NESD) team is searching for an AWS Cloud Systems Administrator to join their program. This position is supportable virtually.
You will be responsible for maintaining computer infrastructures with emphasis on networking. The NESD Network enables the integration of tools required to deliver Service Desk operations within GDIT facilities. These tools include cloud-based Cisco ACD, BMC Helix ITSM, and IPSoft Amelia Artificial Intelligence. Users and developers will access the technology using Government-assigned CAC, and the Network Engineer will be required to integrate this login capability to the NESD Prototype solution.
Responsibilities may include cloud-based computing, on-site servers, software-network interactions as well as network integrity/resilience are the key areas of focus. You will be a technology professional who has the necessary skills to support and oversee cloud-based voice and data technology. You will understand and support the planning, design, and on-going maintenance of all networking equipment and associated configurations.
Develop, integrate, configure, and maintain hardware and software as required to transition the Prototype capability to production.
Support the Network functions required to integrate GDIT’s technology (ACD, ITSM, and AI) with the Government’s CAC.
Maintain accurate and efficient Domain Controller configurations as well as support Cyber with Firewall configurations.
Support the ongoing development of SOPs and Knowledgebase article development for Tier 1 and AI.
Bachelor’s Degree in a similar field or equivalent combination of IT training and practical IT experience
4+ years of experience in Network Operations; Managing/working with network devices
Solid understanding of networking to include routers, switches, circuits and architecture
Demonstratable understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals (e.g. DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP), general networking technologies, network architecture and connectivity troubleshooting
Experience or exposure to a hosting providers, online services, or internet service provider environment is preferred. This time must include troubleshooting routing, switching, and load balancing in a complex networking environment
Thorough experience performing packet capture analysis or running Wireshark is highly desirable
CCNA or CCNP certification
The likely salary range for this position is $88,000 - $132,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
