We think. We act. We deliver. There is no challenge we can’t turn into opportunity. And our work depends on an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Technical Lead joining our team to remotely support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) activities.

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an O&M Lead supporting CMS, you will be trusted to oversee and manage the operations and adaptive maintenance functions, such as: system and tool upgrades; capacity planning; daily processing operations and performance; troubleshooting of production problems; etc. You will coordinate with data center personnel, central database administration, ETL administrators, ID Resolution specialist, vendors, CMS stakeholders and program SMEs and Leads. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Providing operational support of the program systems computing environment. Responsibilities include OS and application software installations and upgrades, backup and recovery administration, adding/deleting users and peripheral equipment, troubleshooting system and application issues. 
  • Providing technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. Compiles records and reports concerning production, machine malfunctioning and maintenance. May advise on workflow plans, methods, and procedures analysis. Analyzes the results of monitoring the operating system(s) and recommends changes to improve processing and utilization.
  • Monitoring and responding to complex technical control facility hardware and software problems using a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques. Provides primary interface with vendor support service groups or provides internal analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
  • Performing all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Interfaces with program stakeholders and user community to understand their needs and implements procedures to accommodate them.
  • Providing end-user support for multiple systems within a large, complex IT Program
  • Handling day-to-day end-user support functions such as tracking and dispositioning trouble tickets as well as handling customer service calls
  • Creating, maintaining, and follow-to-closure service calls or trouble tickets using an automated tool such as JIRA or ServiceNow
  • Creating weekly status update reports on the O&M activities.
  • Updating the status of the O&M Activities in the program schedule.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years or relevant experience
  • 15+ years of functional and managerial experience for SDLC release projects, systems operations, and CI/CD activities
  • 3+ years of experience working with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
  • Experience providing end user support via both phone and electronically (email, chat) for an IT system
  • Experience with support tools such as Remote Desktop and trouble ticket/service call tracking tools such as JIRA, Remedy, etc.
  • Candidate must be able to obtain Public Trust clearance.
  • Candidate must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • US citizen or a Green Card holder
  • Strong and clear communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and interact regularly with government and non-government personnel at multiple levels of authority
  • Experience working in an Agile environment

The likely salary range for this position is $58,781 - $98,176, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
