At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Engineer supporting the customer, you will be trusted to solve complex IT issues and provide exceptional customer service. More specifically:


Customer is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer/Tech Lead to join a dynamic and exciting data engineering team. As the lead, you will be responsible for the overall vision and design and development progress of a new, high performance enterprise data division. Expected understanding of industry best practices and data modeling techniques. Successful candidate should be experienced in leading projects in data design, enterprise data, reporting and visualization and overall data architecture concepts. Having a background with creating complex ETL packages to extract data from various data sources and load into data warehouse is highly desired. Position will serve as technical lead team member of a quickly expanding 8-10 person Agile data, visualization and cloud development team.



  • Able to provide technical guidance and support to data development team.
  • Strong technical acumen and able communicate vision and next steps to complete highly complex design and implementation scenarios
  • Process and supervise work to ensure it is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
  • Collate, prepare and present statistical information for internal and external use
  • Analyzes and documents “as-is” and “to-be” scenarios (processes, models, use cases, plans and solutions)
  • Documented experience performing Data Analysis and Data validation
  • Innovating new ways to standardize existing data processes and optimizing current workflows
  • Create Data Mapping documents, data dictionaries and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
  • Documented experience improving application, schema and data design to meet demanding enterprise data solution.
  • Experience with Agile practices


  • Documented Experience with DevOps/Platforms: Amazon Web Services (S3, RDS, EC2, ECS, Lambda, SQS, SNS, CloudFormation, etc.), Docker, Ansible.
  • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
  • Collaborate effectively across teams
  • Write and deploy SQL and PL/SQL
  • Python development experience
  • Experience visualization products Tableau, Cognos or PowerBI

BA/BS in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.


15+ years of related experience.


Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.
