At GDIT, people are our differentiator. In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
  • Applies knowledge of API (Application Programing Interface) for data services and databases
  • Designs, develops, builds, analyzes, evaluates, installs, and administers database management systems to include database modeling and design, relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management
  • Designs and implements databases with respect to access methods, access time, batch processes, device allocation, validation checks, organization, ETL tasks, protection and security, documentation, and statistical method
  • Prepares system requirements, source analysis and process analyses and design throughout the database implementation
  • Defines database organizations, standards, controls, procedures, and documentation
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
  • Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced database personnel

WHAT YOU’LL NEED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • 5+ Years of experience 
  • Writing SQL procedures
  • Hands on experience with Report Writing using PL/SQL, DML, DDL
  • Design and develop database schemas and maintain database users
  • Design and develop database objects including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views
  • Perform data analysis, create ad-hoc user-data reports using SQL developer/Oracle SQL
  • Prepare and deploy database packages
  • Provide recommendations for performance tuning for Oracle database/SQL queries
  • Hands on experience in working with remote databases and flat files
  • MS Excel Import/Export experience
  • Data management using inbound/outbound data transfer

The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.  We can only accept Green Card Holders or US Citizens for this program.
