Looking for an experienced Program Manager to join our Cloud Engineering and Migration team to lead cloud migration projects for our federal customers. As Program Manager you will manage cross-functional teams to provide expert services for Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform support and will be responsible for managing the current workloads, migration of workloads and deployment of new requirements to AWS environments. In addition, as Program Manager, you will enable continuous improvement and lead organizational change management. We are looking for a highly motivated professional to serve as point of contact for performance, contractual, and personnel issues while acting as the senior technical advisor to the federal Cloud Leader. The Program Manager is responsible for planning, leading, organizing, executing, and motivating project teams to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects that provide exceptional business value to client.
The Program Manager is responsible for leading cross functional teams to achieve project objectives, regularly report on status, and manage projects through the entire lifecycle.
The Program Manager will manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risks and issues of projects and act as a leader and mentor to the team members.
The Program Manager is responsible for oversight of several concurrent high visibility projects using agile and DevOps/SecOps methods in AWS environments.
The Program Manager may play other roles as needed to support successful project delivery such as:
Engage with the customer to identify and remove obstacles to cloud adoption
Provide oversight for the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) of the AWS environment
Serve as gatekeeper for the workloads and data transitioning to the AWS environment
Consistently improve end user services.
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or other relevant field
Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance or equivalent
3+ years minimum project management of 20+ FTEs, working with cross functional teams to provide cloud migration using core AWS infrastructure.
Solid understanding of agile and DevSecOps model to enable development
Solid understanding of and demonstrated hands-on experience in using Agile Project Management tools such as Jira, Version One, Rally or equivalent.
Solid understanding of and demonstrated hands-on experience Microsoft Project, Visio, and all Office Tools.
Ability to support adoption of customer’s cloud platform by business and application owners through process engagement and communications.
Ability to manage complex tasks and adapt to rapidly changing requirements.
Ability to analyze problems with a flexible and creative approach and then propose multiple alternative solutions.
Ability to effectively and confidently communicate complex concepts, data and intelligence – in speaking and writing –with team members and all levels of technical and nontechnical customer stakeholders to improve decision making.
Ability to perform knowledge transition to customer staff for long term operations and maintenance requirements of the AWS environment.
Capabilities as self-starter and quick learner with lots of initiative, working independently without day-to-day supervision of tasks and proactively seeking solutions to problems.
Excellent attention to detail, quality, and follow-through; commitment to continuous improvement and the elimination of performance variability.
Experience with development, release, change, inventory, knowledge management, and end-user support systems
Plan, implement, and manage performance of contract duties.
Manage multiple small projects working with other subject matter experts and technical team, manage deliverables, milestones etc.
Maintain both programmatic and technical project documentation.
Lead, participate in weekly meetings and progress briefings to the customer; follow up on direction given by customer, action items, questions, documentation, etc.
Work with stakeholders to define clear project objectives and requirements, agree on priorities, communicate progress updates and demonstrations, resolve issues and conflicts, and provide responsive change management.
Raise issues, risks, and exceptions; assess impact, probability, and response alternatives; devise risk management strategies and engage appropriate stakeholders; follow-through to resolution.
Work with cross-functional teams with diverse technical skill sets to support successful performance across operations and projects.
Analyze program and project management needs and tailor industry best practices to suit the customer environment.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse group of staff members, stakeholders, and customers.
Monitor performance objectives, implement outcomes-based performance measures and management frameworks; evaluate performance; identify improvement recommendations; provide training and mentoring as needed to ensure consistency and adherence to standards relevant to Agile release cycle
Enforce project roles and owners, communication processes, and status meeting schedule.
Serve as a point of contact for customer leadership and corporate executive management.
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification or AWS Solutions Architect certification
Master’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or related discipline
Five years’ project management experience, working with cross functional teams to provide cloud migration using core AWS infrastructure.
