The Network Administrator will assist with maintaining the customer’s internal network, including customer-facing hosted and cloud environments. They will provide assistance to team members and collaborate on integrated solutions. They will also manage network infrastructures to maintain optimal productivity, mitigate threats, and protect vital network assets. This role will be responsible for implementing and testing network technology enhancements in support of the customer’s needs.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience 2. Understanding of networking to include routing, switching, network monitoring and management 3. Troubleshooting skills specific to network connectivity, security, and ability to effectively work in cross functional teams as needed to resolve issues 4. Good team and collaboration skills 5. Ability to research and find new and innovative technologies to enhance the existing network 6. Work closely with Cisco engineers to implement network best practices
7. TS/SCI with Polygraph
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: 1. Experience with security compliance standards 2. Experience with implementing and troubleshooting various network technologies and protocols 3. Experience with site-to-site VPNs
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Installation and maintenance of network equipment 2. Troubleshooting and resolution of network issues 3. Work with infrastructure engineers to identify new products and solutions 4. Document maintenance for the customer’s network infrastructure 5. Maintain network documentation for audits, compliance, and network O&M 6. Experience analyzing network traffic, using a variety of network tools to assess security-related events to assist in the rapid identification and isolation of issues during incidents and outages and mitigate network outages as rapidly as possible 7. Communications with customers: keeping of incident progress, notifying of impending changes, or coordinated outages 8. Work closely with Cisco engineers 9. Participate in 24x7 on call and assist in resolving issues outside normal business hours
Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborates with engineers and liaisons with vendors on matters related to infrastructure development, migration of changes from testing to the implementation stage. • Supports and assists in managing LAN/WAN and server application infrastructure. • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware, operating systems, monitoring systems, and software in support of customer requirements. • Contributes to the strategic direction and planning for the network infrastructure and software. • Troubleshoot incidents in systems and applications from infrastructure perspective. • Track and resolve requests for related services and support. • Explore and learn new technology’s, take proactive approach to ensure systems availability, redundancy and security. • Taking part of the network projects from the beginning to the end - take part in design meetings, supply technology inputs, affect the solution and match it to the customers’ specific mission needs • Test and evaluate hardware and software to determine efficiency, reliability, and compatibility with existing system. • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot network outages and escalate network outage problems to network engineering team.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS • Good written and oral communication skills; effective networking skills and experience collaborating with team members, management, vendors and customers alike • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, test plans and implementation plans • Experience working with network hardware infrastructure specifically with Cisco Systems.
