The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining secure data & voice networks. A successful candidate will be experienced in the analysis, design, development and deployment of technical network solutions. A successful candidate will also have relevant experience in maintaining and troubleshooting network devices in an enterprise environment. The ability to work in a fast moving, challenging DoD environment is a must. Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Active Top Secret Clearance at minimum. Interim Top Secret Clearances are not allowed.
DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher)
Computing Environment certification (Examples include but are not limited to: A+ CE, CCNA, JNICA)
Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
Broad understanding of network technologies and principles, security policies, firewalls, and L2/L3 switch and router devices (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba)
Experience with routing and switching protocol standards such as: TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and 802.1x
Previous experience gathering customer requirements, writing and developing network design and implementation engineering plans
Previous experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network devices
Familiarity with network performance monitoring tools
Possess flexibility to operate in a highly dynamic environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness
Detail oriented with ability to work well in a team environment
