Network Systems Engineer - Top Secret clearance - Arlington, VA

Job Description

The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining secure data & voice networks. A successful candidate will be experienced in the analysis, design, development and deployment of technical network solutions. A successful candidate will also have relevant experience in maintaining and troubleshooting network devices in an enterprise environment. The ability to work in a fast moving, challenging DoD environment is a must. Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret Clearance at minimum. Interim Top Secret Clearances are not allowed. 

• DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or higher) 

• Computing Environment certification (Examples include but are not limited to: A+ CE, CCNA, JNICA)

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Broad understanding of network technologies and principles, security policies, firewalls, and L2/L3 switch and router devices  (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba)

• Experience with routing and switching protocol standards such as: TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and 802.1x

• Previous experience gathering customer requirements, writing and developing network design and implementation engineering plans

• Previous experience deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network devices

• Familiarity with network performance monitoring tools

• Possess flexibility to operate in a highly dynamic environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness

• Detail oriented with ability to work well in a team environment
