The selected candidate will support NMFC Bahrain that provides critical meteorological information to our nation’s warfighters. Functional Responsibilities

  • Ability to provide 8x5 On Site AND 24x7 On Call Support.
  • Maintain operational readiness of installed IT systems. Ensure implementation of information assurance best practices and reporting procedures.
  • Perform routine hardware/software maintenance as directed by the NITES Program Office (PO):
  • Conduct System Operation Verification Tests (SOVT) on a scheduled basis as determined by the NITES PO and NOOC PM
  • Maintain system configuration documents and provide updates to the NITES PO and Naval Oceanography Operations Command (NOOC) Project Manager (PM)
  • Perform Cyber Security (CS) and compliance actions, system updates, and security reporting activities.
  • Provide desktop support and coordination functions for the unclassified and classified ONE-NET assets utilized by NMFC Bahrain.
  • Provide technical support for bulk file transfers from NMOC deployed units to the NAVOCEANO Central Site Facility.
  • Provide support for the audio/visual system installed in and used by the Fleet Weather Center (FWC) San Diego Maritime Component Bahrain.
  • Provide system and software support for the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography (NMOC) Data Fusion Cell (DFC) system:
  • Conduct SOVT on a scheduled basis as determined by the NOOC IT Ops PM
  • Maintain system configuration documents and provide updates to the NOOC IT Ops PM
  • Perform Cyber Security (CS) and compliance actions, system updates, and security reporting activities.
  • Perform routine hardware/software maintenance as directed by the NOOC Information Technology (IT) Operations (Ops) PM
  • Schedules or performs the repair and/or replacement of defective computer equipment.
  • Serves specified organizational units through the provision of satisfactory computing services.

Requirements

  • Experience living and working in an OCONUS location.
  • Experience supporting US DoD or US Navy customers and organizations.
  • Flexibility in adapting to and functioning in demanding and fluid environments or situations.
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communications skills to interact with customers and team members.
  • Knowledge and experience with system networking and configuration on a local network, DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), and configuration management practices.
  • Skilled in time, priority and task management.

Required Certifications

  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Baseline Certification
  • Windows 10 Operating System Certification
