GDIT 's military health team is HIRING a Health Services Research Analyst to support the 59th Medical Wing (MDW), located at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas.
The 59th Medical Wing Science and Technology (ST) office advises and conducts clinical and translational research on matters pertaining to the medical aspects of the Air Expeditionary Force and the health of Air Force (AF) personnel and beneficiaries. In order to support the required research, ST offices conduct translational research in the areas of emergency medical care, combat casualty care, force health protection, restorative medicine, clinical and rehabilitative medicine and specialty centers.
Recommend ways to improve healthcare quality and minimize costs.
Presents director with research strategies to streamline and improve delivery of clinical care.
Research and evaluate data from different sources to identify discrepancies and patterns in health care.
Analyze, compile, and validate crucial medical data.
Understand the current trends in the healthcare system and provide information to directors for decision making.
Consults with care providers and end users to refine or adapt methodologies to fit research requirements and improve military health care and identify areas to improve health efficiency and process improvement.
Provide support to conduct research studies in trends in health care quality indicators that promote change and encourage patient centered and value based care.
Co-authors/authors scientific publications; presents at meetings and conferences; participates in acquiring research funding including writing grant proposals.
Manages and reviews medical writing of study protocols, statistical analysis and study reports.
What You’ll Need (required):
Master’s degree in public health, health information systems, health care analytics, and/or healthcare administration.
4-8 years’ minimum relevant experience in health services research.
Demonstrated publication and presentation record.
Proven track record in clinical care quality improvement planning.
Proven experience in process improvement strategies.
Must successfully complete and maintain CITI training for research projects involving human subjects.
Expert level health care data analytics software and interpretation of big data analysis.
Experience medical treatment facility patient care and safety regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft office word processing software.
May require occasional weekend and evening hours.
