GDIT's Military Health team is seeking a Visual Information/Media Specialist to support the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases (USAMRIID) at Fort Detrick, Maryland which conducts basic and applied research to develop products, information, procedures, strategies, and training programs, and provides for medical defense against biological threats and naturally occurring infectious diseases of military significance that require biocontainment. The Information Management Division purpose is to enable the research vision of USAMRIID with first class computer and communication services.This position will produce media (audio and video) for promotion of USAMRIID mission and implementation of USAMRIID training programs. Also produce still photography using Digital Single Lens Reflex camera for USAMRIID mission, training and events.Responsibilities include:
Maintain all conference rooms’ audio/visual equipment by performing regular preventive maintenance checks & services.
Maintain an inventory of all AV equipment in each conference room.
Operate multi-media audio-visual conference room equipment, coordinate and schedule conference room use as well as video teleconferencing scheduling and ensuring resources are available as required.
Supply technical expertise for the operation of the Video Tele-Conferencing equipment which is on site at USAMRIID conference rooms.
Supply expertise in trouble shooting multi-media audio visual equipment.
Supply knowledge of DOD/Army information assurance guidance.
Operate D-SLR (digital single lens reflex) camera to document and illustrate medical science research for training and publication, record awards ceremonies, promotions and changes of command ceremonies, passport photos and environmental portraiture
Supply knowledge and expertise in how best to record medical research subject matter with D-SLR still camera.
Provide technical expertise to perform tasks and advice with procedures relating to scientific photography and photo-microscopy.
Write scripts for and plan and coordinate on-location digital video shoots. Perform videography tasks to include, digital video editing, converting digital video file formats, editing sound on both sound tracks as needed and employ knowledge of media encoders.
Some scientific photography, videography and photo-microscopy will be required to take place in BSL3/BSL4 laboratories. If this task is required, contracting provided will be granted ESCORTED access, and will NOT be enrolled in the BPRP program.
HS/GED or BA/BS preferred
3+ years experience with Media and Visual Information experience – maintaining, operating and producing media (audio and video) for promotion
Technical expertise in operation of Video Tele-Conferencing equipment and visual/voice media equipment
Plan, coordinate and write scripts for on-location digital video shots
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain a favorable NACLC T3 security investigation
knowledge and expertise in photography, videography, and graphic support for medical research projects
knowledge of DOD/Army information assurance guidance
