support our government client’s  activities in the California locations.

 

At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As a Systems Technician supports and

manages the responsibilities of the successful completion of all tasks in assigned projects.

  • This position functions as a desktop hardware technician, resolving requests for new hardware, office moves, and resolving hardware failures.  
  • Technicians should be familiar with WIN10, thick clients, thin clients, monitors, printers, multi-function printers, desktop scanners, KVM switches, VTC’s and VoIP phones.  
  • Previous experience on these devices is desired, however training can be provided. Knowledge of SCCM, Active Directory and VoIP call managers is desired. 
  • Ability to interact with end users in a courteous and professional manner at all times is required.
  • Position is in El Segundo, CA.  
  • Travel to other locations in California will be required.  Most trips are day trips from El Segundo to other sites in Southern California.   Some trips will be short TDY’s to central or Northern California.   No OCONUS travel is required.
  • Work is a steady Mon-Friday day shift schedule. 
  • Reporting hours will be set based on the coverage needed, and employee preference.   
  • Some out of hours or weekend work may be required several times a year based on special events, but will be scheduled in advance.
  • Technicians will also conduct site surveys to ensure that requests for new equipment can be supported with in place switches and available ports. 
  • Technicians will be required to update database with the location and status of deployed hardware.  
  • When reasonable, technicians may swap defective components to restore devices to operations. 
  • Participates in special projects as required.

BA/BS in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications training, or work experience. 2+ years of directly related experience supporting information systems operations.

A Top Secret SCI clearance is required to start.  Employees are subject to a polygraph prior to, at or after start depending on customers’ requirements.

Technicians are required to obtain and maintain a CompTia Security + certificate to comply with DoD 8570.

Technicians need to possess a valid driver’s license.

Technicians should be able to lift 50 pounds.
