GDIT manages the receipt and scientific peer review of research grant applications submitted to large federal funding agencies. In the course of performing this work, GDIT receives thousands of research proposals, which are assigned to 1000s of reviewers (scientists, clinicians, specialists and patient advocates) across 100s of review panels.

The Project Scheduler coordinates milestones, deliverables and resources across 30-40 active task orders. Working in close collaboration with task order project managers, task leads, meeting planners and resource managers, the Project Scheduler will develop and maintain appropriate tools to monitor and track progress, to inform resource allocation decisions, and to identify opportunities for automation and improved efficiency.

GDIT seeks a Project Scheduler with demonstrated experience managing high transaction volume, matrixed resources, and the integration of data from different sources (e.g. timekeeping systems, project budgets, skills matrix). Typical duties would include:

  • Creating and maintaining project schedules in Microsoft Project

  • Coordinating with resource managers to assign and track task performance

  • Assist project managers in setting up new project schedules and inputting into program schedule

  • Generating reports, calendars, tasks lists and planning tools

  • Providing summary information to senior management reflecting task progress

  • Interact with customer and project staff to schedule work and coordinate assignments

  • Maintain and assist with project and program schedules

  • Interact with project team and task managers to define scope of work to develop and update detailed schedules, cost information and identification of variances from original plan

  • Evaluate project schedule progress and performance and identify developing problem areas

  • Support project management team to maintain timely and effective change management processes, procedures and systems

  • Assist project team to develop and maintain periodic status reports to keep management informed on project progress

  • Gathers, maintains and analyzes project and program data to contribute to stakeholder reporting requirements, and support continuous process improvement efforts

  • Administers program SharePoint sites and provides basic user support for file and data organization

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS (or equivalent experience), 2+ years of experience

  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Project to create work breakdown schedules, Gantt charts, resource tables and reports

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint lists and libraries

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, including Visual Basic Macros
