As an AF DCGS Systems Engineer, you will perform analysis on technical and system life-cycle approaches and requirements that support organizational objectives. You will conduct technical analysis on system integration, mission data flows, work flows, processes, and architecture issues and assist the AF DCGS team in managing distributed system requirements, development, integration, testing, fielding, user evaluation, and security accreditations of an evolving open architecture system.  

 

As an AF DCGS engineer, you will assist in the generation of Command, Control, Communication, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) requirements, architectures, implementation strategies, engineering, and technical reports.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining and supporting the design, development and implementation of short- and long-term solutions to mission centric information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture, and network systems and applications infrastructure.
  • Often involved in modifying or adapting existing designs.
  • Reviews mission requirements; workflow and business processes; provides oversight to development, testing, debug, and implementation of C4ISR mission centric software solutions.
  • Roles are often project based, delivering mission centric system modernization changes. Designs and develops mission centric systems architecture (integrated process, C4ISR mission applications, data and technology) solutions in alignment with the enterprise architecture direction and standards.
  • Takes responsibility for technical planning, architecture development, and modification of requirements and specifications. Develops requirements and specifications for new products/services, applications and service offerings.
  • Assesses the compatibility and integration of C4ISR mission products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies.
  • Acts as an engineering resource for colleagues with less experience.

 

Qualifications:

  • AF DCGS mission, operations and capabilities experience is a plus!
  • Enterprise architecture, C4ISR mission data flows, site capabilities
  • Acquisition processes (1067, security, boarding activities)
  • AF DCGS implementation requirements
  • Networking experience (OSI model, protocols, data rates, circuit ordering)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required  
  • BS in a Technical discipline required; BS Engineering from an ABET accredited institution desired; + 10 years’ experience preferred; additional years’ experience in lieu of formal education may be considered for the ideal candidate
