HOW BEING A CYBER SECURITY PROJECT ENGINEER  WILL MAKE AN IMPACT?


The Sponsor requires Cyber Security expertise to provide support to large scale, enterprise/mission network infrastructure and information systems. The Contractor(s) will participate in forums, communicate regularly with multiple offices within Sponsor purview, and is expected to facilitate, manage, collaborate, and assist with cyber security risk assessments of Sponsor systems, ultimately getting them to an approved Accreditation status. The Contractor(s) shall be responsible for providing technical security assistance such as proposing, coordinating, implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
  • Required Experience:
  • Demonstrated experience with encryption technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with operating systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with database technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience with networking including the OSI model, also to include TCP/IP, MPLS, SONET, Ethernet.
  • Demonstrated experience with routing, switching, firewalls, and data protection.
  • Demonstrated experience with information storage.
  • Demonstrated experience with virtual machine technology.
  • Demonstrated experience with cyber risks, exploits, vulnerabilities and associated mitigations.
  • Demonstrated experience with technical guidance and oversight both to technical and non-technical, senior level personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting security reviews and assessments.
  • Demonstrated experience with information technology and a practical understanding of application, system, and network security best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience with information security policies.
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and managing information security risks in both operational environment and enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with information technology including practical understanding of application, system, and network security best practices.
  • At least one of the following certifications:
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
    • Certified Ethical Hacker
    • Amazon Web Service (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect (CSA)
  • Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph

Preferred Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing software enhancements to mission systems for Government agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing tools that integrate with commercial applications.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing database management systems, data manipulation techniques and data visualization techniques.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing and modifying software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequence of design.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and directing software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting trial runs of program and software applications to be sure they will produce the desired information and that the instructions are correct.
  • Demonstrated experience compiling and writing documentation of program development and subsequent revisions, inserting comments in the coded instruction so others can understand the program.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and developing writing, analyzing, reviewing, and rewriting programs, using workflow charts and diagrams, and apply knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
  • Demonstrated experience writing or contributing to instructions or manuals to guide end users.
  • Demonstrated experience assigning, coordinating, and reviewing work and activities of developer personnel.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining applications within the cloud environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in development with HTML5, XML, CSS, JAVA, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated experience with rapid prototyping development and Agile development methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience developing innovative analytical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise development with Java-based technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience in research and development with details on progression of ideas to production systems.
  • Demonstrated experience making reasoned, timely, and fact based decisions and to convey reasoning to customers and team members.
  • Demonstrated experience with the Sponsor’s diverse information technology infrastructure including operating systems, major application systems, and network architecture.
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of Sponsor’s cloud computing environment.
  • Certifications, including:
    • Sponsor’s INFOSEC Certification for Systems Administrators (ICSA)
    • Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
