This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of Defense (DoD) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent, or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoD and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoD.

THIS IS AN ENTRY LEVEL POSITION.  GDIT is seeking qualified candidates for Mission Training Complex Capabilities Support (MTCCS) program.  GDIT delivers individual sustainment through collective Mission Command training, Leadership Training / Development, Warfighter Functions (WFF) training, Delta Training, First Person Simulations (Gaming), and constructive simulations supported training.  Technical integration between simulation and C4I systems.  Establish /maintain training and exercise networks.  Accomplish Risk Management Framework Certification and Accreditation security and risk management activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.

  • Contributes to completion of milestones associated with specific engineering projects; Develops solutions to a variety of engineering problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements. 

  • Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.

  • Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.

  • Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operating/hardware system problems. Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.

  • Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

  • Perform other duties as required.  

  • Participates in special projects as required.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Superb communication and organizational skills are a must.

  • Expert in all Microsoft Office products.

  • Command and Control (C2) Information System proficiency is highly desired.

  • Knowledge of systems engineering principles, methods and techniques.

  • Knowledge of the associated hardware, software, and equipment.

Education:

  • BA/BS (in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field with concentration in computer based technology)

  • 2+ years of experience; Military training preferred.

  • Professional Certification in one or more specific technologies may be required to meet DoD Approved RMF Baseline Certifications.

Clearance:

  • Position requires a SECRET clearance

  • Candidate MUST be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance

DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:

  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty

  • Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement

  • Will receive an honorable discharge

  • Has taken any service TAP/TGPS

  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months

  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.
