The safety of our employees is a top priority for GDIT. We are monitoring Hurricane Ida and its potential impact to our employees and operations in Louisiana, Mississippi and surrounding areas.

State Emergency & Shelter Information:

To find a safe place to stay, listen to local officials for evacuation guidance or call 211. You can also visit or view open shelters through the Red Cross Emergency app.

Anyone planning to evacuate to the shelters should bring:

  • Any and all medications
  • Pillows and blankets
  • Snacks


Louisiana officials urge residents to get information about shelter openings and locations at shelter information points along their evacuation routes.

Caddo Parish

  • The Sheriff’s Office in this parish in far northwest Louisiana said a shelter is open for residents evacuating from parishes to the south. It is at 8810 Jewella Ave. in Shreveport in the former Sam's Club building

Lafourche Parish

  • Central Lafourche High School, 4820 LA Hwy. 1, Raceland.
  • Thibodaux High School, 1355 Tiger Drive, Thibodaux.

St. Charles Parish

  • West Bank: Edward A Dufresne Community Center 274 Judge Edward A. Dufresne Parkway

Employee Assistance Program

Please remember an Employee Assistance Program is also available for your use. Your EAP can assist with resources to support you and your family during and after Hurricane Ida. Resources include hurricane preparation and recovery information, referrals and assistance with the following:

  • State and national relief organizations
  • Relocation and housing
  • Disaster recovery companies (that assist with home repair from flooding, etc.)
  • Resources for food, clothing and shelter
  • Home inspectors
  • Coping with crisis
