Job Description

Join the US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES‑X) program at GDIT—a mission‑critical DoD initiative enabling secure intelligence sharing with U.S. allies and international partners. Our globally distributed team supports Combatant Commands with both routine and high‑priority operations. We are looking for an innovative, motivated professional with a passion for modern technologies, continuous learning, and solving complex challenges that directly impact U.S. national security.

This role will be part of a new, agile digital transformation effort aimed at strengthening global operational effectiveness, improving visibility into enterprise IT assets, and driving cost efficiencies through full‑scale implementation of ServiceNow capabilities including IT Service Management (ITSM) and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM).

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the architecture, design, and technical governance of the ServiceNow platform, ensuring comprehensive documentation and alignment with program objectives
  • Maintain and evolve the ServiceNow roadmap by integrating ITIL and platform best practices with customer requirements and continuous improvement goals
  • Stay informed on current, emerging, and retiring ServiceNow products to guide strategic platform planning
  • Drive progress across all ServiceNow focus areas to support organizational goals and reinforce platform vision and values
  • Analyze strategic business needs and provide expert technical guidance for solution architecture including data models, workflows, integrations, and application design
  • Develop detailed technical specifications and design documentation to support implementation and enhancements
  • Recommend appropriate ServiceNow modules and features to address mission and business needs
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure high-quality code, adherence to standards, and alignment with long‑term technical strategies
  • Guide the implementation of platform updates and upgrades, mitigating risk to existing configurations
  • Establish and uphold governance standards, data quality controls, and security/access policies for the ServiceNow ecosystem
  • Monitor platform performance, identify optimization opportunities, and proactively reduce technical debt
  • Promote best practices and knowledge sharing across the ServiceNow Design, Build, Test, and Infrastructure Support teams
  • Support the design, deployment, and maintenance of Discovery Administration processes
  • Engage closely with business and mission stakeholders to gather requirements, validate needs, and ensure solution alignment
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to non‑technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • Assist in the creation and delivery of demonstrations, workshops, and product or application narratives

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of technical experience required 
  • Secret Clearance
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a relevant field – may substitute additional years of experience
  • Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges
  • Experience with ServiceNow application implementation, configuration, and enhancement within the following Products: Core Platform, ITSM, ITAM, and ITOM
  • Experience with solution design, planning, and delivery
  • Experience with Department of War IT systems, processes, and personnel
  • Experience with creating designs and diagrams for complex solutions
  • Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.
  • Intermediate knowledge of, and experience with software engineering principles such as Java Script, REST API, and SOAP API
  • Intermediate knowledge of, and experience with the hardware, software, and systems associated with software engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • Database design and development (Maria DB) Experience with Linux OS Administration
  • Experience with MariaDB and/or My SQL
  • Experience with Domain Separation
  • Experience with Certificate Management
  • Intermediate understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with Agile development methodology, requirements management, JIRA (or similar RTM platforms)
  • Knowledge of SAML, Active Directory, or LDAP

Salary and Benefit Information

The likely salary range for this position is $142,792 - $161,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
