Are General Dynamics (GD) and GDIT the same?

No, General Dynamics is the parent company of General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT). General Dynamics includes Aerospace, Combat Systems, Marine Systems, and Mission Systems, in addition to Information Technology. To learn more about General Dynamics visit gd.com.


Where is GDIT located?

GDIT supports our customers around the globe. Our headquarters are located in Falls Church, VA and we have operations at over 400 customer locations, 270 facilities, and in 30 different countries.

How can I learn more about GDIT virtual hiring events?

How can I apply for a job with GDIT?

Can I apply for multiple job openings?

Yes, you can apply for multiple job openings. We encourage you to review job responsibilities and requirements to ensure you apply to job opportunities that align with your skills and interests.


Do all the job openings at GDIT require a security clearance?

No, not all of the job openings at GDIT require a security clearance. Each job posting will clearly state if a security clearance is required and at what level.


What is a security clearance? How do I obtain a clearance?

A security clearance is an approval by the United States government that an individual filling a specific position is eligible to have access to classified information. In order to obtain a security clearance, applicants must go through an application process that varies based on the level of security clearance and which government agency is issuing the clearance.


Do I need to be a U.S citizen to apply at GDIT?

No, not all positions require U.S. citizenship. Anyone can apply to any position at GDIT, however, many of our positions do require proof of eligibility to work in the United States. Please review job responsibilities and requirements to determine if U.S. citizenship is required before applying for a job.


I created a new account in the GDIT Careers portal (Workday) and submitted my resume. How can I check the status of my application?

The status of your application(s) is located on your candidate home page in the GDIT Careers portal (Workday). You can find a link to your candidate home page in the confirmation email you were sent when you applied. If you no longer have your confirmation email, you can log in to our portal to check the status. Under the Candidate Home header, view Submitted Applications.


What is the process after I’ve applied to a job opening?

Once you've applied to a job posting, you should receive an automated email confirming that your application has been received. If selected to move forward, you may also receive a phone call, text message, or email from our recruiting team regarding the next steps.

When will I hear back after I've applied to a job opening?

You are always able to check the current status of each application on your Canidate Home. From the time you submit your application we send emails confirming your application and instructions for next steps along the way. We recommend checking your Spam folder daily, and making GDIT@myworkday.com a safe sender.


I created an account or submitted an application in the past, but I am having trouble logging in. What should I do?

You can access your account by going to our portal. If you have forgotten your password, click the "forgot your password" under the login screen and you will receive a link to reset your password to the email address you registered your account with. If you are still unable to log in, send an email to GDITCareers@gdit.com for assistance.


What should I do if I experience technical issues with my application?

If you need assistance visiting GDIT's careers website or with applying to a position, please send an email to GDITCareers@gdit.com. Please provide your contact information, the position’s requisition number (if applicable), along with the details of your request.


Someone claiming to be a GDIT recruiter has contacted me, and I have concerns about their intentions and think they may not be legitimate. What should I do?

If you are suspicious of a recent GDIT recruiting request or have been impacted by social media fraud by someone impersonating a GDIT recruiter or GDIT employee, contact GDIT directly at GDITCareers@gdit.com with the relevant information and we will look into it immediately. Please do not offer sensitive personal or financial information to anyone and do not agree to send any money or goods.

What is GDIT's full flex work week?

With management approval, our full flex workweeks allow employees to flex their time on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Flexing could include working more hours on one or more days and charging fewer or no hours on another day in a single pay period. For example, working 80 hours over 9 days of the pay period and taking the 10th day off without the need to charge a paid time off account.


Will GDIT pay to relocate me?

Relocation benefits are role-specific and may be listed in the job posting. If you have additional questions about relocation, you can ask the recruiter once you hear back on the status of your application.


How does GDIT support employees on contracts that are terminated?

We want our employees to have long, rewarding careers at GDIT and do everything we can to support them during times of transition. If you are a GDIT employee and your contract is being terminated or you’re looking for a new opportunity, we have an internal team dedicated to internal mobility. If I was a previous GDIT employee, will my previous employment be considered?

Yes, if the gap in eligible employment with GDIT is less than 5 years, the adjusted employment date will apply to your general leave accrual.
