***Candidate is required to be located in the Southeast region of the Continental United States. Travel is expected to be 90%.
GDIT is seeking a Network Field Service Engineer to support the Automated Installation Entry system in the Southeastern Region. This position will require travel to other locations throughout the United States. MUST HAVE A CURRENT AND ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.
How the Network/ Field Service Engineer will make an impact:
Maintains smooth operation of local area, worldwide, and virtual private networks (VPN).
Plans, evaluates, designs, and coordinates installation and/or reconfiguration of hardware and software elements of data and/or voice communication network.
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of networks and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, Cisco switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, Windows servers 2008 / 2012. WIN 7, WIN 10 OS, SQL and REDHAT etc.
May propose solutions to management to ensure all communications requirements based on future needs and current usage, configuring such solutions to optimize cost savings.
Prepares or ensures that appropriate network documentation exists, including operational instructions.
Provides regular monitoring and network analysis regarding short- and long-range planning for in-house systems.
May coordinate third-party maintenance for network equipment. May design network or portion of network that includes selection and recommendation of hardware and software packages.
What you'll need to succeed:
Must have a current and active Secret clearance
Network analysis experience - 3 years of experience
IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent certification) desired
Must be able read and understand schematics and designs.
Must hold a valid Driver's License.
Knowledge of low voltage hardware desired.
Experience with using Hand and Power Tools desired
The ability to travel frequently. Candidate must be local to Southeast region of the U.S. for customer travel.
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science (desired.). 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree.

The likely salary range for this position is $73,965 - $86,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
